Before you start exercising, you need to make sure that you are in a safe place with plenty of room. You should also be wearing suitable clothing (t-shirt, shorts/jogging bottoms and barefoot is usually best for indoors). Also, adult supervision is essential – you need to make sure that you are safe at all times. Ask an adult to check that what you are about to do is safe and ask them to keep an eye on you throughout.
It is advisable that you perform a warm-up before carrying out any of these routines. Jumping Jacks or jogging on the spot for a minute or two will suffice.
Once you have watched the video of the workout that you want to do, have a go yourself. You can then repeat it as many times as you like, either a week later or in a fortnight’s time - it is completely up to you! You can record your results for the workout and try and do better next time.
You can even create your own workout by combining any number of the short exercises shown in the videos below. Try to make the routines fun and enjoyable to do, this way you will be more likely to want to do the workout again.
After your workouts, you need to make sure that you perform a cool-down. A steady walk for a few minutes will do nicely, followed by some static stretches.
